MEZEREUM.

This remedy is derived from a shrub called as Daphne Mazercum.

It suits persons who are undecided or irresolute, hypochondriac and despondent and indifferent to everything and everybody.  It suits persons who get angry for small things, but are soon sorry for it.  It suits persons, who get an apprehensive sensation on the pit of the stomach, when expecting bad news.

It suits subject who have a thick leathery crust over the head under which thick and white pus collect.  This remedy is useful in eruptions that ulcerate and form thick scabs under which purulent matter exudes.

It is a useful remedy for many skin symptoms and neuralgias.  It is a useful remedy for a bruised and weary feeling in the joints with drawing stiffness.

It is a useful remedy for eruptions after vaccination.

It is a useful remedy when the patient is extremely sensitive to cold air.

It is useful when the subject suffers from chronic gastritis with a desire for ham or fat.

It is useful whenever the subject has eczema with intolerant itching, chilliness with pruritis. It is also useful for ulcers, which itch and burn, when vesicles surround these ulcers.

It is useful whenever the long bones are inflamed and swollen, with caries and exostosis.  It is also useful when the pain is worse in the night, by touch and damp weather.

This remedy suits persons who are worse in cold air, night, evening and until midnight.

MEZEREUM is very useful for an acute ciliary neuralgia following excision of the eyeball.  You will find MEZEREUM is very often extremely helpful, particularly if the patient gets – as so many do – a horrible sensation of coldness in the eye socket from which the eyeball has been removed.  It is quite a common complaint after excision and it is very marked in MEZEREUM, which gives enormous relief in these cases.
