It is useful whenever the patient is very forgetful and has a feeling of floating in the air. It is also useful when the patient is despondent and has frequent visions of snakes.

It is useful in subjects who cannot concentrate and for those who omit letters in a word.

This is a good remedy for Hysteria, when the subject feels that snakes were on his back and has many unexplained erratic pains.

It suits cross or irritable persons, who have the fear of to be alone, of dying, of becoming insane and of going down the stairs.

This remedy suits children who are cross, irritable and cry and scream all night long.

It is useful when the pains ALTERNATE FROM SIDE TO SIDE. This is a keynote symptom.

It is useful when the tongue is coated white with red edges, with profuse salivation.

It is useful in stiffness of the neck and the tongue.

It is useful remedy to control the gush of the menstrual flow.

It is useful in right-sided sciatica.

It is useful to cure all forms of worm infestations, including tapeworm infestation and in trichinosis.

It is a wonderful remedy to dry up the milk in nursing mothers. It is also useful when the breasts are inflamed and painful and the female wishes to hold the breasts tightly, while moving or descending the stairs.

This remedy is useful in when one needs to dry up the milk in the nursing mother.

This remedy is useful in rheumatism, where the pains wander from side to side and go back to the first side, from below upwards. The pains are erratic, constantly flying from one part to another and finally affecting the heart.

Terminalia Arjuna.

Introduction:

There is historical evidence in the Rigveda and the Atharvaveda that Ayurvedic physicians in India have used the bark of the tree Arjuna for over 5000 years. The Botanical name of this plant is TERMINALIA ARJUNA and in Sanskrit treatises this tree is also called as Nadisarjja.

The Arjuna tree is found in the sub-Himalayan regions, Bengal, the Deccan plains and in Myanmar (Burma) and Sri Lanka. It generally grows in marshy belts. The extract from the bark of this tree is considered to be useful a heart tonic.

Ayurvedic Uses:

Vagabhatta, the famous Indian Ayurvedic physician was the first to record that this remedy is useful in heart diseases. Charakadatta has described it as a tonic and as an astringent.

As a cardiac remedy, it has been found useful heart failure. This remedy is also considered to be useful to arrest bleeding. This remedy is also useful in urinary infections and dissolving urinary calculi. This remedy is considered to be useful in fevers.

Other rare uses include healing fractures and contusions, diarrhoea and dysentery. An ointment made out of the bark and honey has been found useful in Acne. The juice of fresh leaves has been found to be useful earache. Ashes of the bark have been found to relieve the pain in scorpion stings and a decoction of the herb has been found to heal chronic non-healing ulcers. The powder of the bark is even considered to have aphrodisiac properties, if taken with milk over a long period of time.

Homoeopathic uses:
Unfortunately this remedy has not been well proved and there is not much data about its efficacy.

Allopathic research has revealed that the bark contains large quantities of Calcium, some Magnesium, Aluminum, an astringent, and a compound Arjuninine, Arjunetin, essential oils and coloring matter. Opinions by the Allopaths about the efficacy of this herb are, however not very encouraging.

Conclusion:

The Ayurvedic physicians have been using this remedy in all sorts of heart diseases and claim marked success in Angina, palpitations and valve diseases. This drug needs a lot more methodical research.

Introduction:

The Alexander Technique is an Alternative Health therapy. It was developed by, F. Matthias Alexander, who was a Tasmanian. Alexander was a talented actor and recitalist. As a young man, during his stint as a miner and an amateur recitalist, he would lose his voice and none of the orthodox systems of medicine helped him. He then resorted to studying his own posture in a mirror and he noticed that the position of the head was affecting his entire pattern of his body movement. His head sagged and this depressed his larynx. He found that consciously lifting his head vertically, he was able to improve his vocal disorder. Gradually, Alexander was convinced that the body should move with maximum balance and co-ordination, so that only minimal effort was made for any given activity. He concluded that good posture, aided natural breathing patterns, good blood circulation and eased the pressure on the vertebrae.

There are seven basic movements of raising the head upward.

The head and the body should be maintained vertically during sitting.

The hands should be moved horizontally in front of the chest, then raised above the head and lowered to rest on the thighs.

Walking with ease so that the head moves upward and away from the body.

Moving the legs, the right leg is raised until the thigh is parallel to the floor, so that the line of the hips should be parallel to the floor.

Heel and toes, the toes should be placed on the floor while the heel is raised and lowered. This helps in reducing the tension and makes the movement freer and more relaxed.

Knee bending should be done while the body is perpendicular to the ground. The hips and ankles should never be bent.

Standing up and sitting down should be with minimum amount of effort in rising from the sitting up to the standing position.

Conclusion:

The Alexander technique is a Holistic therapy and stresses the direct relationship between the body movement and mental balance. The Alexander technique is very popular in the West and in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Introduction:

Cow dung is serious stuff in India and to ‘recycle’ the cow’s waste as medicine may sound ridiculous. Cow dung is mentioned in British folk medicine from the early times, so it is not just confined to Asian cultures.

The Indians had used cow dung as medicine for centuries in Ayurveda, Extensive research has been done in Ayurveda and the healing properties and health benefits of cow dung are documented in several Hindu texts.

It is widely believed that diabetes, cancer, arthritis and even AIDS can be cured with a mixture of cow dung and cow urine.

Medical uses of Cow dung:

Cow dung medicine dispensing is either in liquid or powder form, and it could be in capsule or tablet. The use of cow dung does not just stop at medicine. You can make soap made from cow dung, which is claimed to be good for dandruff, skin disease, and rid body of bad odors and to make the skin soft.

Other uses of Cow dung:

Cow dung can be used as patties for cooking. It is also used as a fertilizer. It is said to have natural antiseptic properties. Introduction:

Pyramid healing is an alternative healing practice that is based on the concept that the shape of the pyramid provides a means of tapping into the healing energy that surrounds every living thing. Pyramids are found in many different cultures, and are often associated with growth, production, and vitality. Methodology of healing:

On a Mental plane this remedy is useful when patients suffer from anxiety, lethargy, indisposition to meet people, when patients are very irritable and suffer from brain fag. It is also useful in cases of hysteria, loss of memory and somnabulence. It is a useful remedy when the slightest labor seems to be a heavy task and there is shyness with a disinclination for conversation.

It is a useful remedy when the breath is fetid and the patient feels an all gone feeling in the pit of the stomach.

It is also useful whenever there is diarrhea with a foul putrid odor and the diarrhea increases while eating and there is a prolapse of the rectum.

It is a useful remedy when the menstruation is delayed, scanty feeble and when the labor pains are ineffectual.

This remedy is useful whenever there are nocturnal emissions, and whenever the sexual power is diminished and there is utter prostration after coitus.

It is a useful remedy whenever there is incontinence of urine and bleeding from the urethra.

It is a useful remedy whenever there is a paralytic lameness of the back and the extremities exhibit sub-normal temperature. It is useful in gangrenous conditions.

This remedy suits persons who are worse after excitement, worry, mental or physical exertion, eating and in the early morning cold.

This remedy suits persons who are better from warmth, rest and from good nourishment.
